Same Old, Same Old

I had an emergency plumbing repair that lasted the exact amount of time it took the president to give his big immigration speech. This left me with Hugh Hewitt as my source of info. I also heard Hugh's interview with "ICE Princess" Julie Meyers.

Like always, I'm not surprised. It looks like the Minutemen will continue with their plans to built their own fence.

I got to listen to the speech later, and it wasn't bad, but as the interviews and explanations went on it looked worse and worse.
Why can we not build a fence, i just don't understand?

I don't think we'll build a fence because of the "message" it will send to foreign countries. That is, the way it looks.

The only country I want to send a message to is Mexico. If we keep the pressure on our leaders, the pressure on Mexico will be inevitable.

About the speech: talk is cheap. We know that the president is an advocate of open borders, and that when he makes a decision, he usually sticks by it. While sticking by a decision is what I like about the president, there is no country without borders. Last time I checked Bush was the leader of a country, not a "region".

Ironically, when viewed against those who hate Bush the most, I think Bush considers himself a "global" citizen, not a US citizen. Plus, most of Bush's experience with immigrants, like other elitists, are nannies, gardeners, and other elitists.
